London calling! Part 1…

“Why, Sir, you find no man, at all intellectual, who is willing to leave London. No, Sir, when a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford.” Samuel Johnson

I wasn’t able to go to Twinwood this year. I was really upset and so to make me feel better I booked a few days in London. I lived and worked down here for 10 years before moving back home.

It’s been over a year and a half since I’d been back down and so I crammed a LOT into my 3 days!

Day 1

Most of the day was spent travelling but I made it down for lunch with one friend before drinks with another. I completely forgot to take a picture of my outfit but it was a redo of this from a few weeks back. I just love this print!

Perfect for a tonne of drinks and dinner in Ping Pong (a chain of restaurants specialising in dumplings and dim sum!)

Day 2

A nice morning walk on the Southbank lead to breakfast with my best friend at the Mondrian. It’s lovely to sit out in the sun watching the world go by. Also it’s surprisingly good value for the area – the Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon was £14!

I loved the outfit I wore this day. It’s a sarong dress courtesy of collectif (what a shock!) and although the straps are done so you can change them, I have sewn them in place as I found they kept coming loose. Also I prefer them like this so it was no skin off my nose.

To make sure I didn’t spend all my time running about I booked a spa afternoon at the Ironmonger Row Baths. They’re one of the oldest Turkish baths in London and run by the council. It’s surprisingly luxurious and again great value for money. You pay for 3 hours use of the spa which includes 2 saunas, 2 steam rooms, an ice shower, plunge pool and tropicarium. I also paid for an hour long treatment which included being soaped and scrubbed, covered in a rhassul body mask, rinsed in rose water and massages with she’s butter. It’s fair to say I was very chilled once finished!

Only 1 pic from the spa – thought it would be a bit rude taking many so snapped one while in the tropicarium  on my own. I do love this bikini from Boux Avenue. I have it with high waisted bikini bottoms and smaller tie side ones. Both are so comfy!

So that’s about half of my trip. The other half is still to be written up…
